Yesterday, a small group of Women Who Walk enjoyed a stroll on the trail at Winter Cove, and went on to Veruna Bay.
The trail at Winter Cove held a surprise: a very large arbutus was the hiding place for a little Gnome. Here's a picture of our mascot and the Gnome:
If you have trouble seeing the Gnome, here's a close-up.
The rain held off (lucky us!) and we went on down the road to Veruna Beach. At low tide, with no wind, Veruna Beach was magic. The water was mirror-like, and the view down Navy Channel was very peaceful.
Because three of the Women Who Walk are quilters/knitters/crocheters, and pay close attention to this type of detail, we noticed a lovely piece of seaweed (as yet unidentified). We thought it would make a lovely shawl. But none of us was prepared to wear it...This was an easy walk. Next week's planned walk will take us on a more adventurous and lenghty expedition. Stay tuned, we'll post the walk on Wednesday.
