Fiddler's Cove, on a Sunny Day

Hike Report: The weather was great, sunny but not hot. Perfect for hiking down to a lovely cove, a picnic, then hiking back up the cliff. Six Women Who Walk showed up, so we were a "Six-Pack of Women on the Rocks" (thanks, D., for that moniker: we like it!).

Down the path we went, watching our footing. It's a steep trail and you have to pay attention...

Down at the beach, we explored the rocks and crevices, looking for interesting critters. Lending a helping hand to a friend... to get over these slippery rocks...

Below, one of my favourite pictures: Women's Work - Never Done! "Hold up that rock, while you're at it, Honey!"

Once you're done with holding rocks up, you can relax on the beach. One of us demonstrated the art of relaxing on the beach. We should have a yoga class down here, one of these days...

Above: the mystery flower. Tiny (this is a true close-up), no leaf visible. Just a lovely trillium-like blossom. We are putting our vascular plant experts on the case. They will help us identify the "mystery pinky"...

NOTE: Our vascular plant Detective, H., identified the above cuty as Allium acuminatum, less formally known as Hooker's Onion, or tatertip onion. Thanks, H.!

Back at the top of the cliff, some of us felt like goofing around. "This is not Acapulco, Honey!" No cliff-diving allowed. If your children could see you now...

The Six-Pack of Women Who Walk had a great afternoon. We had a vote on next week's excursion, and are doing some research on that destination... Stay tuned, we'll post details on Wednesday.
